AVIARY

This is the piece-de-resistance, particularly for visiting children.

The birds, enclosed by a meshed-house, call-out, scratch-earth, fly from roost to roost; The huge, black and proud Turkey charges and pecks the handler; The colourful Teal duck is tame beyond imagination; The guinea fowls are noisy; the four miniature white rabbits are cuddly; The many home-grown pigeons are of many hues and colours; The Azeel fighting rooster challenges all-comers; The black and white Nun fantail puts on a proud strut; the many budgies and cockatiels are continuously on song and motion.  The many domestic fowl are huge and colourful; the turtles, the sharks and large cat-fish are an added attraction.

RIVERSIDE

A wide tributary of the River Zuari ebbs and flows at the end of the property, allowing visitors to fish from a pier, to relax in a shack and read a book or just flake out with a six-pack and music, whilst enjoying a scenery of nature that is hard to replicate elsewhere. Bird-watching and wowing the flypast of different species of butterfly is another pleasure from this place.

Depending on the time of year, just watching peasants plant and weed rice saplings and the menfolk wade knee-deep in river silt catching fish with their bare hands is ancient tradition in motion.
