The Botanical Garden

After an extensive renovation to our Ancestral house, we transformed it into a quaint holiday place for visitors. We call it The Garca Branca Bed & Breakfast Guest House and Resort. The surrounding 5000 sq metres of fallow land was sculptured and nurtured into a lushly landscaped "Garden of Eden". Our intention was to provide our resident guests with an environment of peace and tranquility on which to de-stress and re-energize themselves. Having successfully crafted this paradise, we were buoyed by visitors into developing it further into The Garca Branca Botanical Gardens.

Authentically Goan & Educational

Nurturing the authentic flora and fauna of Goa lends the Garden its identity. The flourishes are intelligently name-plated and with the 'root to tip' pictures; their inherent health and medicinal properties are highlighted to enhance their educational value to visitors.

Orchard & Spice

The focus here is to identify the Plants, Flowers, Trees, Fruit-trees and Spice plants and to highlight their health and medicinal uses.

Vegetable Patch

As many vegetables as possible, which are consumed by our guests, are grown in house. These change over time and weather, but those current are identified and their Health and Medicinal properties are indicated.

Zoo

We have a huge aviary on the grounds which houses our poultry, broilers, assorted and exotic fowl and variety of exotic birdlife. Also giant cat fish in a pond. The backwaters are home to a variety of water fowl, kingfisher and fish eagles.

Scenery

An artist's and photographer's paradise with backwaters, paddy fields, mountain ranges, water fowl, bridges, grazing animals and field peasants.
